Of serving our community with leading eye care
Advanced Family Eye Care was started by the late Dr. R Doran Espe in 1979 in Independence, IA. He provided medical eye care for the town of Independence for many years and is still loved by patients today.
Dr Carrie Kearns, OD has been serving Independence and the Cedar Valley with eye care since 2007. She specializes in ocular disease with a special focus in pediatric vision therapy. She received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from Indiana University School of Optometry. She co-authored “Two differing presentations, treatments, and outcomes of malignant choroidal melanoma” and is an active member of the COVD, American Optometric Association, and Iowa Optometric Association, and InfantSEE.
Dr. Brad Boyle, OD has been practicing in the Cedar Valley since 2016 – specializing in diagnosing and treating diseases including dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, and glaucoma. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry where he graduated with magna cum laude honors. As an active member of the Iowa Optometric Association and American Optometric Association, his mission is to enhance his patients’ quality of life through getting to know his clients to develop customized eye care solutions.
