Dr. Eyad Yehyawi, OD, earned his Doctor of Optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis College of Optometry in 2004, followed by a 2005 residency in ocular disease at the St. Louis Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
With over two decades of clinical experience practicing in Iowa, he joined the Independence location of Advanced Family Eye Care on July 1, 2025. Prior to this transition, he served patients at Dr. DM Fitzgerald & Associates in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Dr. Yehyawi is dedicated to enhancing his patients’ quality of life through comprehensive vision care. Guided by the belief that every patient is unique, he is committed to helping individuals maximize their long-term health and visual clarity.

Dr. Yehyawi is motivated by a strong belief that vision plays a central role in a person’s overall health and quality of life. He is dedicated to helping each patient protect and preserve their sight by delivering individualized care that reflects their unique needs and goals.
Personal
Outside of work, Eyad loves spending time with his wife, Melinda, two young boys, and dog, Windy. He also enjoys sports, outdoor activities, writing, and working out.
