Dr. Brad Boyle
Dr. Brad Boyle has been an eye doctor in the Cedar Valley since 2016, servicing locations including Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Independence, and surrounding areas. His primary focus is on medical optometry. He specializes in diagnosing and treating eye diseases such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration and dry eye. With focus on the underlying health of the patient, he routinely communicates with primary care providers to further enhance the care provided to patients. His goal and mission is to serve patients to ensure healthy eyes and quality vision at all stages of life. In order to do that his philosophy is to engage patients and educate them so they understand the importance of treating an eye issue. He includes the patient when selecting treatment options and wants them to understand why treatment is necessary or unnecessary.
Dr. Boyle also excels in contact lens fittings, routine eye exams and pediatric eye exams. He is able to find solutions to many types of routine issues such as astigmatism, nearsightedness and farsightedness in children and adults. Precise vision is important to most patients and Dr. Boyle strives to give that to them. In addition to routine exams he also fits contacts. If you have been told you are not a good candidate for contacts, many times Dr. Boyle is able to find a solution for you by either going deeper into the fitting process or by fitting you with specialty contacts such as Duette, CRT, RGP or scleral lenses.
Dr. Boyle grew up in New Sharon, Iowa, he attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids where he majored in Biology and Neuroscience. While at Coe he excelled as quarterback of the football team and led them to two playoff appearances. He was also a two time conference MVP. Dr. Boyle is an active member of the Iowa Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. He strives to advance the optometric scope of practice to further serve his patients. When not working Dr. Boyle likes to spend time with his wife Michelle and three kids, Cora, Julian, and Bennett.
