Boys & Girls Clubs of Cedar Valley is a local chapter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America which provide voluntary after-school programs for young people. For more than 50 years, they have focused on providing opportunities to further the youth of the Cedar Valley community. Their mission is to inspire and enable all young people to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. Their vision is to provide a safe & fun club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters their doors.

Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation and Sanctuary

Wildthunder Wildlife & Animal Rehabilitation and Sanctuary (Wildthunder W.A.R.S.) is an animal welfare and rescue nonprofit organization. They specialize in treating & caring for injured and medically compromised animals. They work with multiple species of injured and orphaned wildlife, including reptiles, bats, raptors, mammals, and exotic animals. They operate on volunteers and are funded personally and from their community.

Mustang Athletic Booster Club

The Mustang Athletic Booster Club is a strong organization with a vision of moving our student athletes further in their quests for success. They donate to coach’s clinics, sports camps, uniforms, stats software, ball equipment and state hotel costs. They have donated 4 $350 scholarships to Dollars for Scholars. They are funded through clothing & merchandise sales, concessions, and their generous supporters.

Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and used building supplies and donated home goods ​at discounted prices. They accept donations from contractors, retailers, and community members. All proceeds are used to fund the Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope in Black Hawk, Butler, Bremer, and Buchanan counties. Shopping at the ReStore also diverts tons of material from the landfill each year.

Friendship Village

Friendship Village is a nonprofit retirement community in Waterloo, IA. They focus on physical, spiritual, social, and mental health. They offer independent living, assisted living, dementia or memory-care services, and post-surgery rehabilitative care. Their trained and caring staff are ready to serve Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Waverly, Dunkerton, Independence, Evansdale, LaPorte City, Hudson, Janesville, Grundy Center, and all of Cedar Valley.

Northeast Iowa Food Bank

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank, located in Waterloo, IA, distributes nutritious food and grocery products to 150 nonprofit organizations and programs that help families and individuals with food assistance. For 40 years, they have alleviated hunger and provided nutrition education through their programs. Their mission is to provide nutritious food and grocery products to nonprofit organizations and individuals in northeast Iowa, while offering hunger education programs to the area and those in need.

Pathways Behavioral Services

Pathways Behavioral Services is a nonprofit corporation licensed by the Iowa Department of Public Health and accredited by the Department of Human Services. Founded in 1967 to serve clients solely in Black Hawk County, Pathways today offers substance abuse and mental health prevention and treatment services to people in six northeast Iowa counties. Their staff  provide high quality, research-based and outcome-driven programs.

Guernsey Charitable Foundation

The foundation’s mission is to work in partnership with others to improve the vitality of the community, addressing issues important now and in the future. The foundation focuses its support on a broad spectrum of needs including education that builds character, programs that enhance family life, key social issues, science, programs that aim for community betterment, health and life skills, sports, fitness, and activities that recognize the value of people.

Waterloo Community Foundation

The Waterloo Community Foundation is organized to serve individuals and organizations in Waterloo to provide a better future for the community in a wide variety of areas, including education, recreation, cultural diversity, the arts, our youth, health and human services, the environment, and more. They are governed by 15 local board of directors who bring diverse backgrounds, united by the goal to building a more vibrant Waterloo.

House of Hope

House of Hope provides single-mother families and women who age out of foster care with individualized support and transitional housing to achieve secure families, independence and permanent homes. They were founded in 1995  by a group of church leaders with the vision is to end the cycle of homelessness in the Cedar Valley with respect, empowerment, stewardship and accountability as our core values.

Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley

The Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley serves as a resource and coordination center for volunteers and community partnerships in the Cedar Valley area. They believe in the power of volunteerism to create change in the Cedar Valley community, and that by mobilizing people and resources, they can deliver creative solutions to community problems. Their mission is to promote and support volunteerism & create a positive impact on the Cedar Valley community and its residents.

The Salvation Army of Waterloo & Cedar Falls

The Salvation Army is an international donation center, founded in 1865 by William Booth. They are an international movement & an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Their message is based on the Bible. Their ministry is motivated by the love of God. Their mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

Junior Achievement of Eastern Iowa – Cedar Valley

Junior Achievement’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed. The inspiration piece comes from community volunteers who not only deliver our lessons, but share their experience. In the process, these volunteers serve as role models helping to positively impact young people’s perceptions about the importance of education, as well as critical life skills. Preparation involves our proven lessons that promote financial capability, work and career readiness, and business ownership.

Friends of the Family

Friends of the Family provides confidential housing & advocacy services for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. They work tirelessly to help survivors and victims, taking pride in their advocacy efforts. Founded in 1992, they have expanded their reach to 27 Iowa counties thanks to generous donations and strong leadership from their staff and Board of Directors.
